Misha Gankin is a recent MFA graduate in Film & TV Production from the University of Southern California. During his time at USC, he has directed over 12 short films. He has most recently completed his thesis film, Dead Pet Shark, which he shot on 35mm film. Currently, he directs commercials for tech start-ups, and is in pre-production for a proof-of-concept comedy to be shot in 2025.

Misha is fascinated by stories about characters in denial of the world around them, and the dilemmas that their denial causes. His unpredictable stories are riddled with a dry humor, with each film possessing a unique visual style. Inspired by the experimental tendencies of David Lynch, the gothic comedy of Tim Burton, and the visual control of Wes Anderson, Misha Gankin's films all contain familiar stories anchored in dream-like worlds.
Misha is based in los angeles.
